Archive history
In January 2015, Felip Ponsatí contacted the Diputació de Girona through a donation proposal document. His intention was to donate the fonds, located at his home address, to make it known and publicly available with free access for INSPAI, Centre de la Imatge users, since he did not want to continue keeping the fonds at his home and wanted it to be shared. Among the didactic material created by MMACAE, Felip Ponsatí kept photographs, documentation, animated films and documentaries that served as teaching aids in the classroom. The donor expressed his intention to donate the films. He registered the photographs and documentation in the Regional Archive of Alt Empordà (ACAE). The films were placed on reels with two different diameters: 12.5 and 7.5 cm. In the first, the larger of the two, the films were in the original plastic boxes. In the smaller ones, they were in metal cans. The posters were kept in bags and folders. In 2014, the fonds remained in INSPAI¿s repositories until the donation contract was formalized. Together with the donor, plans have been made to transfer the physical materials to the Filmoteca de Catalunya film archive for their permanent conservation, once they have been digitized and documented in order to be able to disseminate them from INSPAI, as holders of the usage rights and owners of the fonds. In 2020, 29 of the 8mm telecine films were digitized and individually wrapped in permanent preservation paper with the coding of each referenced on the wrapper.

Scope and content
The geographical scope of the audiovisual documents is mainly Girona counties, Alt Empordà and Garrotxa. They mostly include interesting topics such as grade-school teaching, class trips, educational get-togethers, summer school, vistas and landscapes in the region of Girona. The subject matter focuses on the Teachers Movement for a Catalan School in the Alt Empordà, which aimed to promote quality education. Among the most prominent measures was the promotion of activities, continuous training of teachers and exchanging experiences, all rooted in Catalan and public culture. They are documentaries or animated films that were used as teaching aids in schools. The topics discussed are, for example, geography, volcanism and the changes in the landscape of the towns in the region of Girona. These documentaries were used to prepare students before outings so that they could learn about the topics to be explored on the class trips in advance. Class trips to Besalú, La Garrotxa, Puig Redon, Castellfollit de la Roca, in the Alt Camp area, Figueres, Olot and Sant Jaume de Llierca were also filmed. The fonds also contains teaching aid films, made with animation assembled by Felip Ponsatí, such as an animated film to teach letters to children. There are also teacher meetings such as educational get-togethers, summer school and other MMACAE activities.
