FORMACIÓN - IMÀGORA
Imàgora (image + agora) has been created to provide a meeting point centring on photography and offering training and information about the different aspects of this discipline.
The training available includes courses, seminars, workshops and technical sessions, addressing issues such as photographic and artistic technique, legal questions and matters related to the conservation and preservation of images.
It is hoped that Imàgora will also inform a wider audience about the culture of photography through talks based on the experience of photographers and the aim is to set up an educational service, with a view to taking photography into the classroom, and give lectures and presentations at schools and universities.
This initiative includes courses, seminars and workshops aimed at training professionals and amateurs on photographic and artistic imaging techniques (both initial training and further study are available). Sessions are held in Girona's Casa de Cultura cultural centre.
This workshop is directed at local authority and cultural facility personnel in Girona responsible for photographic fonds: museologists, librarians, archivists, cultural technicians, those in charge of documentation centres, etc. The session covers concepts of image conservation, preservation, organisation and digitisation, in addition to legal issues related to this field
Additionally, presentations and conferences on image conservation, consultation and dissemination techniques and legal matters related to images, etc., are held for students of the different University of Girona faculties.
This initiative is offered to councils in municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants, where a visiting instructor leads courses, both basic and advanced, on digital photography.
