Iglesias-Xifra Fonds
The images in this fonds, dating from the mid 19th century to 1970, record the activity of the Iglesias-Xifra family and were taken by renowned Girona jurist Ramon Xifra i Riera.
The fonds includes family portraits, photographs of outings to the beaches near Palafrugell, indoor and outdoor scenes from Pòlit farmhouse in Vilamaniscle, a photographic testimony of a trip to the French Alps, images of the family house in Girona and the lawyer¿s office belonging to the author himself. The fonds was originally kept privately in the family house but is now in the custody of the INSPAI Image Centre.
The 323 negatives, on glass plates of various formats and film stills in half-frame format, were ceded to the Archive in 1994. A further 912 images, both positive photos on paper and plastic negatives, were added in 2006 and are currently being described and digitalised.
